UC faculty members will receive a 5.7% pay increase starting in January, bringing a full professor’s top annual salary to $75,000, under increases approved by the UC Board of Regents. Campus chancellors and UC system President David Gardner will also receive 5% increases after the regents unanimously approved the increases at a meeting at UCLA. Gardner’s salary will climb to $198,600 next year, and chancellor salaries will range from $105,000 to $168,100, depending on seniority. University staff will receive an increase of about 4%, the same increase other state employees will receive. The UC operating budget is $1.9 billion, about $111 million larger than the 1986-87 budget.
