A former official under the late Shah of Iran was injured when a bomb exploded under his car on a busy London street. The victim was identified as Amirhussein Amir-Parviz, 63, agriculture and development minister under the shah, who was toppled in 1979 by the Islamic Revolution led by the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. A friend of Amir-Parviz told reporters that he is the chairman of the anti-Khomeini National Movement for Iranian Resistance in London. A group calling itself the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution claimed responsibility for the bombing in a telephone call to an international news agency and said there would be further attacks.
