“American Playhouse,” the weekly public television series that for six years has showcased American theater, will expand its activities to theater production, the New York Times has reported. Law said that the new plays may premiere on stage as early as next year, but “probably won’t show up on ‘American Playhouse’ until the 1989 season.”
