James R. Williams was named president of Cetec Gauss, a Sun Valley manufacturer of audiotape duplicating equipment and loudspeakers used in recording studios.
Williams, 44, was appointed acting president last October after Mort Fujii left the company to head Shape Inc. of Biddeford, Me., a maker of plastic molds.
Before joining Cetec Gauss in 1978, Williams was manager of quality assurance at RCA Records in Indianapolis.
Cetec Gauss is a unit of Cetec Corp., which is in El Monte. Cetec also makes plastic molds and autopilot systems for boats and computer software.
