An unidentified male was shot and killed on a Logan Heights street Monday night after fighting with two other youths, San Diego police said.
The shooting occurred shortly after 7 p.m. in the 2800 block of Franklin Avenue, where the three youths had been arguing. Police said two of them began fighting and wrestling on the ground. The third youth then pulled a gun and shot the victim in the back.
Moments later, the wounded youth stood up and was shot in the stomach. He was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he died in surgery, police said. The two other youths, whose names are not known, fled.
The county coroner’s office said it was trying to contact the victim’s relatives.
