Divers were being brought to Kings Canyon National Park to retrieve the body of a skier believed to have drowned in a remote lake in February. The body was spotted from a helicopter after hikers found a backpack and skis at the edge of a small lake eight to 10 miles east of Lodgepole, park spokesman Marv Jensen said. Jensen said the skis and pack match the description of those used by Robert Simmons, 32, of Reedley. Rangers conducted an unsuccessful search for Simmons in February.
