L.A. Offers Reward for Latin Terrorists

Reports of kidnaping, rape and vandalism suggesting that a terrorist group is operating within Los Angeles’ large Central American refugee community prompted the City Council on Friday to offer a $10,000 reward toward the arrest of the perpetrators.
In a related action, Councilwoman Gloria Molina said she will ask the council to condemn the remarks of Harold Ezell, western regional director of the Immigration and Naturalization Service who has dismissed suspicions of a Salvadoran-style “death squad” in Los Angeles as an “orchestrated PR campaign.” Molina called Ezell’s remarks uninformed and irresponsible.
Los Angeles police and FBI agents are investigating reports of terrorist crimes.
The council approved the reward by a 10-0 vote, with five members absent.
