The $20-million, 195-unit Villa Gardens retirement project at 842 E. Villa St., Pasadena, has been dedicated.
The five-story building, designed for owner Mediplex Group Inc., Wellesley, Mass., by Roger L. Schutte & Associates Inc. Architects, Omaha, Neb., was built on the site occupied for more than 50 years by the Villa Gardens Home for Retired Teachers.
The new complex will be managed by Foundation to Assist California Teachers (FACT), the original owner and founder of Villa Gardens. It will be open to teachers and non-teachers alike, according to a spokeswoman. The contractor was McCarthy Construction Co., Los Angeles.
