PBS stations will get their summer pledge drives in gear this week, and at KCET Channel 28 one of the kickoff highlights will be “Sentimental Swing: The Music of Tommy Dorsey” (Saturday from 8 to 10:05 p.m.).
A KCET production, the Dorsey musicale was taped last winter at the station’s fund-raiser at the Hollywood Palladium. Mel Torme hosts and the featured vocalists are Maureen McGovern (with Torme on the cover), Jack Jones and the L.A. Voices. Buddy Morrow conducts the Dorsey orchestra.
“Sentimental Swing” also will turn up Aug. 22 on Channels 15 and 50.
