A former Pepsi-Cola executive was sentenced to four months’ confinement and fined $45,000 after being convicted in an alleged price-fixing scheme. James P. Sheridan, former president of Allegheny Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co., pleaded guilty in June to conspiracy to fix prices and agreed to cooperate with investigators in the U.S. Justice Department’s antitrust division. Court records show that Sheridan met with his counterpart at Mid-Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling and agreed that the two firms would stop underselling each other with discounts to retailers.
