Tennis Roundup : Wilander Is Upset by Lundgren

Peter Lundgren of Sweden, ranked 79th in the world, upset top-seeded Wats Wilander, 6-1, 6-4, Thursday in the $375,000 Assn. of Tennis Professionals tournament at Mason, Ohio.
In other matches, Boris Becker defeated Derrick Rostagno, 6-4, 7-6; Jimmy Connors beat Kelly Evernden of Australia, 6-3, 6-2; Brad Gilbert downed Wally Masur of Australia, 6-7, 6-4, 6-1; Stefan Edberg of Sweden, seeded second, ousted Tarik Benhabiles of Britain, 6-3, 6-1, and Anders Jarryd of Sweden, seeded eighth, eliminated Barry Moir of South Africa, 6-1, 7-6.
Barbara Potter, who withdrew from a doubles match because of a back injury the night before, upset second-seeded Hana Mandlikova 6-4, 6-4, to move into the quarterfinals of the Player’s Challenge tournament at Toronto.
Potter, seeded ninth, will meet eighth-seeded Bettina Bunge of Monaco, who beat Kathy Horvath, 6-3, 6-2.
In other matches, top-seeded Chris Evert routed Nathalie Tauziat of France, 6-2, 6-2, Helen Kelesi of Canada defeated second-seeded Claudia Kohde-Kilsch of West Germany, 6-2, 6-3; third-seeded Pam Shriver advanced with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Kathy Jordan.
