Fullerton’s Hinton Set for Surgery on Knee

Cal State Fullerton football player Ted Hinton, a three-year letterman and projected starter at outside linebacker, will undergo arthroscopic surgery Monday to remove torn cartilage from his right knee.
He is expected to miss the Titans’ season opener at Hawaii Sept. 5, and he could be out two to six weeks from the time of surgery.
Hinton, a senior, was second on the team in tackles with 75 in 1985, but troubles with his knee limited his playing time last year, when he finished with 27.
Sophomores Cisco Combs, Darren Emery and Chris Wright are expected to compete for the start at Hawaii, said Steve Hall, defensive coordinator.
