Northwood Reaches Western Semifinal

The Northwood Little League All-Stars of Irvine are within two victories of going to the Little League World Series for the first time after their 18-0 victory over West Kootenai of Idaho Thursday night in a quarterfinal game in Al Houghton Stadium at San Bernardino.
Northwood, which represents Southern California in the 14-team Western Regional that opened play Monday, meets Washington today at 5:30 p.m. in one semifinal.
It was the 14th consecutive victory for Northwood.
