X-rays of bats used by New York Mets third baseman Howard Johnson and San Francisco Giants outfielder Candy Maldonado showed no signs of tampering, the National League said.
The bats were confiscated by umpires during Wednesday night’s game between the Mets and the Giants.
Some batters have been accused of putting cork or shredded rubber into their bats to increase their power.
