Mobil Corp. has agreed to sell its headquarters building in mid-town Manhattan to a Japanese company. Mobil didn’t disclose the value of the transaction, but the Wall Street Journal has reported that Hiro Real Estate Co. will pay about $250 million. The oil company has occupied the 1.5-million-square-foot building, at 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue, since 1954 but said in April that it would move its main offices to Fairfax, Va., in about three years to lower expenses.
