SACRAMENTO — A 24-year-old X-ray clerk at a Fullerton hospital won $100,000 in the California Lottery’s weekly “Big Spin” Saturday, and seven other spinners divided an additional $150,000.
But none of the eight contestants in the televised weekly spin hit any of the wheel’s $1 million or $2 million-plus slots.
Richard Montgomery of Riverside, who is a clerk for Saint Jude Hospital in Fullerton and guitarist and vocalist for a rock group named “Montgomery Silk” was the $100,000 winner.
“I’m on cloud nine right now,” Montgomery said after his spin. He said that his ultimate dream is to own a recording company and that he would use his winnings to “invest it and pay off some bills and move on with bigger and better things.”
