ORLANDO, Fla. — Two young seamen have been charged with murder and mutiny in what the Justice Department called its first case of civilian revolt on the high seas since World War II.
William L. (Little Bill) Rector and Billy Eugene (Big Bill) Gossett Jr. were charged Friday with beating the captain and first mate of the shrimp boat Leslie Rae on July 29 and leaving them for dead in the Atlantic. The first mate survived and reported the incident.
