L.A. Designer Wins Innovative Housing Prize

David Shilling, a Los Angeles architectural designer, has been awarded a Citation of Merit and a $1,000 prize in the 1987 Innovations in Housing competition for his use of “curvy avant-garde designs” that utilized resilient building materials, such as plywood. He was one of four designers to be honored out of 350 who entered from around the world.
