Is there anyone out there, other than you clowns at The Times, who is the least bit interested in whether Bob Dylan was born-again, born free or born a week from Tuesday?
Is there anyone out there besides Hilburn and the other rock cyborgs (critics) who care whether Dylan is a Jew for Jesus, a Jew for Moses or a Unitarian, for crying out loud?
Dylan’s manipulation of the press is as blatant as it is brilliant, and you guys soak it up every time. If he feels he needs a little publicity, this “recluse” puts the word out that he’s had a change in his philosophy, and all the little rock writers dash drooling to their word processors, like Pavlov’s dogs.
Dylan reached his peak years ago, and hasn’t done anything remotely interesting since “Tangled Up in Blue.”
Get with it, guys! Time to write about something (and someone) else.
