Two men were arrested on suspicion of murder Friday and one remained a fugitive in the death of a 15-year-old Cerritos girl who was shot while leaving another girl’s 16th birthday party, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said.
Emmanuel Cortez, 22, and Rowel Strong, 21, both of Los Angeles, were arrested shortly before 12:30 p.m., Deputy Bryan Williams said. Both were booked into the West Hollywood sheriff’s station jail, where they were held without bail, he said.
Cortez and Strong are suspects in the Sept. 26 shooting of Tina Kang. Investigators said several gang members were angered when they were repeatedly refused entry to the birthday party.
Investigators are looking for a third man, Arnel Manzano Sola, 18, of Los Angeles. A fourth suspect arrested earlier this week, Alexander Q. Paneda, 19, of Los Angeles, remains in custody.
