Pacific Symphony Adds 3 to Staff; Chorale Names Development Chief

Two Santa Ana-based arts groups have announced new administrative appointments.
The Pacific Symphony has added three members to its staff, while the Pacific Chorale has added a new director of development.
New to the symphony are: W. Andrew Powell, 29, director of marketing and public relations; Shirley A. Lorenz, 43, director of development, and Millie Alexander, 35, business manager.
Powell is a former senior account executive at Chiat/Day Inc. Advertising in Los Angeles. Lorenz has been director of development for the Zoological Society of San Diego. Alexander, a certified public accountant, has been senior accountant at Tustin-based John Ernest Accountancy Corp. since 1985.
Alexander started her new position this week. Powell and Lorenz will assume their new duties Oct. 19 and Nov. 2, respectively.
The chorale has appointed Bonnie L. McClain, 36, as the new director of development, effective immediately. McClain’s duties will include fund-raising and public relations.
Before joining the chorale, McClain was the manager of the American Youth Symphony in Los Angeles. She also worked at Paine Webber.
