Ortega to Meet U.S. Senators

WASHINGTON — Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega is expected to meet Saturday in Managua with a group of U.S. senators to discuss efforts toward a regional peace agreement in Central America, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said today.
The group also plans to meet Friday with Costa Rican President Oscar Arias Sanchez, whose regional plan won the Nobel Peace Prize, McCain said. In addition to McCain, those scheduled to meet with Ortega are Sens. Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.), Thad Cochran (R-Miss.), Terry Sanford (D-N.C.), Jim Sasser (D-Tenn.) and Steve Symms (R-Ida.).
