Edmund M. Carpenter has relinquished the post of chief operating officer for New York-based ITT Corp. and will become chief operating officer for ITT’s product businesses, including ITT’s automotive products business, its electronic components business and its fluid technology business. He remains president of ITT Corp.
DeRoy C. (Pete) Thomas, vice chairman of ITT, has taken the additional title of chief operating officer of ITT service companies, plus ITT Rayonier, the company’s forest products subsidiary, which previously reported to Carpenter.
ITT Defense Technology Corp., which formerly reported to Carpenter, will report to ITT Chairman Rand V. Araskog.
