Toro Soccer Team Ties With Cal Poly
Cal State Dominguez Hills’ hold on third place in the California Collegiate Athletic Assn. soccer race is more tenuous after a scoreless tie in two overtimes with Cal Poly Pomona.
The game, much of it played in a downpour at Pomona, left the Toros with a 3-3-3 conference record and a tie for third with one game left to play--Saturday at Cal State Northridge, the nation’s top-ranked Division II team.
The game offered little in scoring opportunities. Toros goalie Chris Wilson made three saves and Pomona goalie Tim Miller stopped six shots. Most of the second half and both overtimes were played in a hard rain.
