Woman Catches 37-Pound Striper at Willow Beach
- Share via
Anglers at Willow Beach, south of the Hoover Dam in Arizona, have been hooking up with large striped bass recently, but few have been able to land the bigger fish, which like to swim into the strong currents to escape.
Mrs. Lou Aitchison of Reno apparently has them figured out, however. She caught three big stripers, including one that tipped the scales at 37 pounds 4 ounces, a lake record.
Trolling within 500 yards of the marina with her eight-inch Red Fin lure, Aitchison then managed to land two others, weighing 15 and 20 pounds.
