Kozo Sato has been elected chairman of Exar Corp., San Jose, for the ensuing year. Sato succeeds his brother, Ken Sato, president and chief executive of Rohm Co. of Japan, who will remain a director and continue in a management advisory capacity for Exar and its Exel Microelectronics Inc. unit. Kozo Sato is managing director of international operations for Rohm Co., Exar’s majority shareholder.
