Hewlett-Packard’s income rose 25% to $644 million for the year ended Oct. 31. The Palo Alto company said the positive results stem from improved U.S. business and sustained expense control. Revenue was up 14% to $8.09 billion. For the fourth quarter, earnings were up 39% to $218 million.
