An El Cajon man pleaded innocent Thursday to a charge of murdering his ex-girlfriend, whose body was found in a car left on a vacant lot in El Cajon.
Municipal Judge Melinda J. Lasater set bail at $500,000 for Mark Agustine Lugo, 22, and scheduled a bail review hearing for Tuesday. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Dec. 18.
The body of Eydie R. Lopez, 24, an El Cajon resident who worked as a residential staff technician at the Home of Guiding Hands in Lakeside, was found Monday morning in a lot at Mollison Avenue and Sandalwood Drive. Authorities said she had apparently been strangled.
