Local News in Brief : Police to Hold Auction

Hawthorne will sell surplus city equipment and unclaimed stolen property recovered by police at an auction at 9 a.m. Dec. 12 in the city yard, 12501 S. Truro Ave.
Bicycles, stereos, jewelry, cameras, office and gym equipment, a chain saw, telephone answering machines, motorcycles, a van and used sedans will be sold as is, and cash will be required for purchases of $100 or less, according to City Treasurer Howard Wohlner.
A complete list of items is available at the treasurer’s office in Hawthorne City Hall, 4455 West 126th St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
