Bloomington 39, Harvard 13--In the second half, Ricky White ran for two touchdowns and caught a pass for another score to break open what had been a close game at Bloomington High.
Leading, 13-7, White’s 41-yard third quarter touchdown run increased Bloomington’s lead to 19-7. In the fourth quarter, White ran 30 yards for a score and caught a 64-yard pass from James Armendariz, who completed 10 of 16 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown.
White rushed for 157 yards in 10 carries, while Travis Robertson added 63 yards in 5 carries.
Marcus Diaz’s 20-yard fumble return early in the second quarter gave Bloomington the lead for good.
Harvard (7-4) opened the scoring on its first drive, when Marty Holly tossed a 47-yard touchdown pass to Daniel Herman. Bloomington tied the score on its ensuing possession on Robertson’s 14-yard run, which capped a 67-yard, 11-play drive.
Operating out of the single wing, Holly rushed for a game-high 165 yards and 2 touchdowns in 27 carries and completed 13 of 20 passes for 200 yards. He threw one interception, which Charles Johnson returned 65 yards.
Bloomington (11-0), the No. 1 seeded team in the conference, faces Atascadero, a 42-7 winner over Agoura, in a second-round game next week.
