Local News in Brief : DeBellis’ Parting Words

Tony DeBellis gave up his seat on the Hermosa Beach City Council last week and has some advice for the two new members of the council, Roger Creighton and Chuck Sheldon, who spent their campaigns attacking one another.
“In your future deliberations, respect one another’s opinions, work to find a compromise so that our city can continue to make progress,” said DeBellis, who came in third in a four-man race for two seats. “Be decent instead of dogmatic, sensitive instead of strident.”
As for his own achievements on the council, DeBellis said he had done “what I promised to do when first elected, which was to make decisions and make progress on solving our problems.”
