TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras — The Honduran Congress unanimously passed a law late Friday granting amnesty to people convicted of political crimes and some military crimes.
A Honduran Supreme Court source said the law will affect 28 people, most of them accused of sedition and rebellion during a recent land dispute.
The law is in line with the Central American peace accord signed last August, which calls for each signatory to adopt amnesty laws to promote national reconciliation.
