E. Thayer Bigelow Jr., chief financial officer of Time Inc. since 1984, has been appointed president of American Television & Communications Corp. of Englewood, Colo. ATC, the country’s second-largest owner and operator of cable television systems, is an 82%-owned subsidiary of Time Inc. The appointment is effective Feb. 1.
Reporting to Bigelow will be Thomas W. Binning, executive vice president-chief financial officer and James H. Doolittle, executive vice president-chief operating officer.
Bigelow has served on the board of directors of ATC since the company’s initial public offering of shares last year and is also a director of Tri-Star Pictures.
