Authorities were searching for a man who robbed a Home Savings Bank at the corner of Brookhurst Street and Chapman Avenue shortly before noon Monday.
Garden Grove Police Lt. Ken Whitman said the robber handed a bank teller a note to put “as much cash as possible” into a bag.
The suspect’s note said he was armed, but the teller told police she never saw a weapon. Once the bag was full, Whitman said, the suspect fled on foot. Whitman said the suspect, described as a white male in his late 20s, was wearing a red sweat shirt with a hooded and jeans, had collar-length brown hair and a thin build.
