The State : Woman, 92, Found Slain

The body of a 92-year-old Merced woman abducted from her convalescent home bed during a bloody struggle last month has been found, police said. A truck driver found the body of Cecille Oliver behind a hedge two miles from the Hi-Lond Convalescent Hospital. Hours after Oliver was reported missing, police arrested a paroled sex offender for questioning in the case. The suspect, whose name has been withheld, has not been formally charged and is in custody without bail on a parole violation, said Police Cmdr. Tony Dossetti. Detectives said lab tests indicated that blood found in Oliver’s room matched blood stains found in a car belonging to the suspect.
