Johnson Tops All-Conference Selections

Quarterback Bret Johnson of El Toro High School and running back Glyn Milburn of Santa Monica were voted the most valuable players of the Southern Conference by the Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles Wednesday.
Johnson led El Toro to its second consecutive Southern Section title with a 36-6 victory over Los Alamitos Dec. 12.
Running back Robert Lee of Santa Ana High made the all-conference team for the third consecutive year.
Also making the offensive team from Orange County were: quarterback Todd Marinovich (Capistrano Valley); wide receivers Randy Stark (Capistrano Valley), Jon Cisneros (Los Alamitos) and Mike Kent (Esperanza); offensive linemen Mike Linn (Esperanza), Sergio Rocha (Santa Ana) and Cory Wayland (El Toro), and all-purpose player George Tuioti (Santa Ana).
Making the defensive team from Orange County were: linemen Matt Fosdick (Los Alamitos), Jose Avalos (Santa Ana) and Adam DeMalignon (El Toro); linebackers Roger Roadstrom (Los Alamitos), David Webb (Irvine) and Jeff Pease (Mission Viejo); defensive backs Adam Brass (El Toro), Jason Moler (Esperanza), Roshawn Lacy (Santa Ana Valley) and Robert Fanti (Santa Ana), and kicker/punter Phil Nevin (El Dorado).
