John McEnroe and Tim Mayotte are among eight tennis players nominated to compete for the United States in the 1988 Olympics.
It will mark the first time since 1924 that tennis will be a full medal Olympic sport.
McEnroe and Mayotte were named for singles, Ken Flach and Robert Seguso for doubles, and Brad Gilbert at the alternate.
Nominated for the U.S. women’s team were Pam Shriver, Zina Garrison and Elise Burgin in singles and Shriver and Burgin in doubles.
