The refurbished band shell at Alhambra Park, 500 N. Palm Ave., will be reopened Saturday with a dedication ceremony and an afternoon of music.
Built in 1927, the band shell fell into disrepair and has been closed since 1979. The reopening will begin with a performance by the Mark Keppel High School Jazz Band at 11:45 a.m. The dedication ceremony at 12:15 p.m. will precede music from the San Fernando Valley Banjo Band and the chorus from the First Baptist Church of Alhambra.
