Local News in Brief : 7 Held on Drug Charges

Redondo Beach police arrested seven people during a raid on a suspected drug lab early Wednesday.
Police and agents from the federal Drug Enforcement Administration raided a home in the 1900 block of Matthews Avenue at 1 a.m. and seized chemicals and equipment allegedly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Police said an informant directed them to the house, where they said they also seized an undetermined amount of methamphetamine.
Arrested on suspicion of manufacturing and selling the drug were the residents of the home, Katherine Paddock, 49, and Antoinette Parris, 28. Also arrested were Robert L. Strike, 19, of Wilmington; Chester D. Beasley, 41, of Long Beach; William M. Ball, 38, of Carson; Kathy J. Lee, 32, of Lennox, and Jerry V. Lovely, 22, of Wilmington.
Each was being held on $5,000 bail.
