Bus Falls From Bridge in China; 49 Killed

BEIJING — Forty-nine people were killed when an overloaded bus plunged 80 feet from a bridge near Yibin in central China’s Sichuan province Dec. 30, reports reaching Beijing on Wednesday said.
The Canton Evening News said 85 people were on the bus, which was designed to carry 48.
In the same part of Sichuan, 30 people were killed last month when a bus rolled over a cliff after the driver got out to inspect his vehicle.
