J. Edward Shugrue has been appointed senior executive vice president of the newly formed Triumph Releasing Corp., a subsidiary of Columbia Pictures Entertainment Inc., New York. Shugrue previously was senior vice president-general sales manager for Tri-Star Pictures Inc. Triumph will run distribution support activities for the sales teams of Tri-Star Pictures, Columbia Pictures and Weintraub Entertainment, from the branch locations previously operated by Columbia Pictures.
