Local News in Brief : New City Manager Named

Kevin B. Northcraft, city manager of Suisun City near Napa in Northern California, has been hired as city manager of Hermosa Beach. Northcraft, 38, previously served as assistant city manager of El Segundo, leaving that post in 1985.
Northcraft will replace Gregory T. Meyer, who resigned in September to become a deputy administrator of the Los Angeles Redevelopment Agency. Northcraft is expected to start Feb. 21 and will earn $65,000 a year, the Hermosa Beach City Council announced.
