Master’s Women Defeat Occidental, 72-60

Shelmarie Tatum scored 26 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead The Master’s College past Occidental, 72-60, in a nonconference women’s basketball game Tuesday at Master’s.

Tatum, who made 11 of 17 field-goal attempts, scored 15 points in the second half and had 8 steals.

Kim Vargas added 14 points, 8 assists and 9 steals for Master’s (7-5) and Michelle Spink and Deanna Mincks each scored 10 points. Occidental is 6-7.
