Bad timing for Cable News Network. With the key Iowa caucuses less than two weeks away, CNN political director Christine Dolan has resigned effective today over a salary dispute. Unsatisfactory contract negotiations apparently led to her decision to leave the cable network after six years. Dolan, who has been CNN’s political director since 1984, reportedly thought she was not being properly compensated for added duties on “Inside Politics ‘88,” a nightly half-hour program that debuted last November.
