Senate Plans to Vote on Kennedy Wednesday

WASHINGTON — The Senate will vote Wednesday on the Supreme Court nomination of Anthony M. Kennedy, Majority Leader Robert C. Byrd’s office announced.
The vote will follow about one hour of floor speeches, Byrd’s office said Thursday.
Kennedy received a 14-0 recommendation from the Judiciary Committee last Wednesday. No senator has announced opposition to the Sacramento federal appeals court judge.
