Between 100 and 200 Beverly Hills High School students were evacuated Thursday morning when a minor gas leak was discovered in a meter next to one of the school buildings, police said.
It took less than an hour to repair the leak, according to Southern California Gas Co. spokesman Dick Friend. The students, who had been kept on a football field, were back in class by 9:40 a.m.
Principal Sol Levine said he called the Fire Department after a custodian told him about an odor of natural gas.
