Simi Valley Launches Bid for Elusive Title After a False Start

After a one-day postponement, Simi Valley High will begin its run at the Southern Section basketball title with a home game at 7:30 this evening against Hoover.
The Pioneers, the No. 1-seeded team in the Southern Section 4-A Division, were scheduled to play Crescenta Valley on Friday until a U. S. Federal Court judge reinstated Muir of Pasadena, bumping Crescenta Valley from the playoffs. Muir had forfeited the league title and all of its wins because it used an ineligible player, but the judge issued a restraining order Thursday that permitted Muir to compete.
