Mike Cingiser, the Brown University basketball coach who scuffled with a fan at a Cal State Fullerton basketball game in December, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace and was fined $100.
A misdemeanor assault charge against Cingiser was dropped.
Cingiser scuffled with Bill Harvey, a longtime Fullerton fan, Dec. 30 in Titan Gym. Harvey had been heckling the Brown players, and Brown approached him from the opposite side of the court. After a bench-clearing disturbance, Harvey and two other fans were ejected, and Cingiser was assessed a technical foul.
