‘Le Jupon Rouge’
France, 1987, 90 minutes , 7:45 p.m . Muddled affair of jealousy and passion which moves at a snail’s pace. When a woman becomes involved in a lesbian relationship, her friendship with another woman starts to disintegrate. First-time director and co-writer Genevieve Lefebvre complicates matters by insisting that love and politics go hand in hand, and the ultimate insult is: “fascist’s daughter.” Worthy of a few epithets.
