Czechoslovakia slimmed its Cabinet and named a streamlined government in an apparent bid to improve a stagnating economy. Premier Lubomir Strougal, the country’s foremost advocate of economic reform, retained his post to head a Cabinet reduced from 26 to 20 members. Seven ministers were ousted and three changed posts, according to a list published by the official Ceteka news agency. The changes represent the biggest shuffle since new ministers were named after the 1968 Soviet-led invasion.
